Dr. Travis Murphy is a General Dentist at Montague River Dentistry in Montague
Dr. Travis Murphy graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University in 2000. That same year, he opened Montague River Dentistry.
Dr. Murphy is passionate about keeping up with the latest advances in dentistry. To ensure he is current with all of the innovations in his field, Dr. Murphy has completed hundreds of hours of postgraduate dental education, studying with the best dentists in the world.
Although he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, he is particularly interested in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, implants and sedation. He has completed a comprehensive series of post-doctoral courses in cosmetic dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). LVI is recognized the world over as the premiere post-doctoral teaching facility in dentistry.
Dr. Murphy’s interest in dental technology shows in his office, where he has incorporated some of the newest technologies to better serve his patients and ensure their safety and comfort. One such innovation is ultra-low dose digital x-rays, which use 90% less radiation than standard x-rays. Because the images appear instantly on the computer, Dr. Murphy and his team spend more time with patients, not in the darkroom. Each image can also be magnified and enhanced to reveal hidden problems, making assessment and diagnosis faster and easier.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Murphy is married with three children. He enjoys sports and spending time with his family.
