Your First Visit

Initial Examination

To begin, your dentist will review your medical and dental history, then complete a comprehensive dental exam. This exam will consist of a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, jaw and bite, oral cancer screenings, and any x-rays that may be needed.

Treatment Plan

Your dentist will create a long-term dental treatment plan for you based on your history and examination. There will also be time to ask any questions you may have about your dental health and treatment options.

New Patient Form*

We recommend completing our new patient form prior to your first appointment. If you're a first-time patient and haven't already submitted a form, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete the form prior to your appointment.

Insurance & Financing

At Montague River Dentistry, we'll guide you through our options for payment and direct billing to insurance companies so you can focus on getting the dental care you need.

  • Direct Billing to Insurance

For your convenience, we offer direct billing for most insurance plans. We can submit your insurance claim electronically, which results in faster reimbursement, without the requirement for signatures or paper forms.

Our administrative team can help you to understand your insurance plan better. They can also send estimates to your insurance company before starting any major treatments.

Please bring your insurance plan information with you to your appointment.

  • Payment Methods

You are responsible for any co-pays or amounts not covered by insurance. These must be paid at your appointment.

We accept payment by cash, cheque, debit or most major credit cards.

Support for Anxious Patients

Do you experience anxiety or fear around dental appointments? This is very common, and it can prevent people from receiving the dental care they need. If this sounds familiar, not to worry.

Our team at Montague River Dentistry has a variety of practices in place, including dental sedation options, to help you relax during your appointments.
